:: ULTIMATE CHEESY 7 ::

Yeah... I am talking about the latest promotion from Pizza Hut. Last time I remember they were doing pizza with 5 different types of cheese. As a cheese lover, I definitely go for it... I love cheese... name it, I will try... blessed, for the opportunity to live in UK for almost 6 years and I took the chance to try those cheese... hoaaaa... now I wish I could fly back to UK :((

Back to the story, I waited impatiently for my payday only to buy the latest pizza by Pizza Hut - Ultimate Cheesy 7. It contains 7 different type of cheese - Romano, Monterey Jack, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Provolone, Philadelphia Cream Cheese & Cheddar. Dengar saja enough to make me feel the yummyness... so I bought a Large size takeaway hoping to enjoy it with dear hubby and kiddos.

Yummy! Especially the awkward cheesy ball kt tengah2 tu..huhu.. arrived at home, kids can't wait to give a shot... mama pun sama je...unfortunately.. this pizza is a big No-No-No to my kids... they questioned me.. kenapa pizza nie x sedap..siap one of them buat muka nak muntah lagi... dear dear... you were bit too young to explore the world of cheese... unlike me, I enjoyed every bite of it...

For me, with the abundant of cheese.. it is indeed a big hit... I don't think everyone will love it especially for the young ages... but if you are a true cheese lover... silalah makan sementara stock masih ada... i woke up next morning to find the cheese ball... (Philadelphia Cream Cheese missing from the pizza leftover...) rupanya ada peminat juga.. (nie kerja Eiman rasanya..hehe..)

:: SALAM AIDIL ADHA ::

SALAM AIDIL ADHA TO ALL MUSLIM READERS OUT THERE :-)

Due to my work and Tupperware commitment, I haven't managed to update my blog frequently. In fact last week... did I wrote something? I don't think so but trust me, I have a lot of food story pending to be shared with you guys out there :-)

Since I am still in raya mood... although it was 3 days ago... I celebrated my Eid with my mom, brothers and kids (Eiman & Arissa) at Muar. My husband and eldest daughter were not around due to some reason... no, kitorg bukan gaduh yer... pasal komitmen kerja my husband la..

The bestest thing about Eid is the opportunity to enjoy, indulge and savour my mom's cook... she is the best! Name any chef in the world, no one can ever beat her cook...!!! These were what we had for Hari Raya Qurban :)

Menu Hari Raya Aidil Adha 2011
Clockwise - Nasi himpit, kuah lodeh, kurma daging, kuih bakar pandan (remember the recipe of kuih bakar labu I shared before? The recipe is just the same...) and sambal kacang.

While writing this post, meleleh air liur mengenangkan keenakan masakan bonda saya... :) Huhu...

:: ROTI MANIS ::

It has becomes a trend nowadays for me (and many more people - I learn this from Facebook!) to purchase products online including FOODs. Maybe, due to hectic lifestyle as a full time working woman, full time mom and full time wife that leads me to do that, I think many women out there will agree to me. Or maybe, online shopping is a peace-of-mind way to shop because we don't have to pay toll, parking fees, queuing at the cashier to pay bla..bla..bla.. well for me, I don't really purchase things online but I am more interested to order FOODs online... for instance, home bakers are very much on top of my list! This is due to the hygienic reason, HALAL & TOYYIBAH (I am a practicing muslim) and the price is somehow cheaper from what we bought in supermarkets. As for now, I have tried to buy/reserve/c-o-d from many home bakers in JB and the latest purchase was somewhere early of this month when I feel tempted with her posts in my Facebook timeline - Roti Manis!

The Facebook Page owned by Liza Othman and she offers delivery by post as well as C.O.D. Since her location is kind of near to my workplace, I went to her pickup point (Perling Mosque) to collect my first order. There are many types of Roti Manis and you will definitely spoilt will all the choices she offered... and me myself have decided to have Roti Manis Cinnamon topped with Cream Cheese & Roti Manis Sosej In and Out with Cheese Sauce & Mayo.

Roti Manis Cinnamon topped with Cream Cheese

Amacam..??? Luxury, kan? My first impression was WOW! It was so tempting that I cannot help but pinched a bit of the one with sausage to that you got the answer why that roti already 'sompek' when I snapped the pic!

Both roti (bread!) are very much loved my my kiddos and me and hubby :) The texture is soft and I honestly love love love it more than roti from bakery now!

Roti Manis Cinnamon would be much more tastier kalau perisa kayu manis itu digandaduakan :) I am not sure whether it is my tongue or what, but i would love it more if the cinnamon flavour is stronger... however, itu ikut tekak org tua lah...for my kids...they just loved every bite of it :)

Roti Manis Sausage In & Out with Cheese Sause and Mayo

Roti Manis Sausage was simply awesome! With a very rich and generous quantity of sausage, you couldn't never ask for more! Liza told me, 'I salah buat doh..terdouble measurement' but I told her I don't care janji sedap...hehehehe... and I tell you today... memang sedap..!!! Kalau I panggil Warung Kita dtg rumah u boleh tak? Hehe.. I definitely recommend her roti to my friends. And my good buddy (Nordiana Din) already placed her order yesterday while I'll pickup mine next Tuesday :-)

For readers who are not coming from Johor, Liza offers delivery... I mentioned somewhere in my post, right? I strongly recommend everyone to try this :) Price wise, very reasonable :) I paid RM17.50 for both of these. (Note - not including postage yer)

Last but not least - BERSAMA KITA MENYOKONG PERNIAGAAN BUMIPUTRA & HOME BUSINESS :)

:: KUIH BAKAR LABU ::

Kuih Bakar - baked in oven
 Hi Friends :)
I haven't got a chance to update my blog yesterday since I was busy at home doing a lot of 'maid'-thingy..huhu.. Today, I'll share with you a recipe I inherited from my beloved mom... an extremely simple recipe.. suitable for vegetarian and everybody can do! This cake is called Kuih Bakar Labu or some may call it Bingka Labu... whatever.. but this kuih is my favourite, I am a big fan of pumpkin :)

Before I start talking about the recipe itself, it would be better if I tell you about the mould first. As far as I know, there are 2 different sizes - small and large. Since I came from a small family, I bought a small one which is just nice to feed the 5 of us :) You could get this mould from any baking shop or even kedai periuk as well. I can't remember exactly how much it costs me, but I remember bought this piece at Pasar Borong Selangor @ Seri Kembangan.

Kuih Bakar Mould
Okay..let's go to the recipe. As I wrote before, it is damn easy to make this cake. All you need are:
Sugar
Flour
Coconut Milk
A slice of pumpkin, boiled till' soft

How about the quantity? This id depend on the size of the mould :) My mom taught me by using the large mould, so I halve her quantity :)

For small mould:

1 cup of Sugar (you may use half or 3/4 as well..follow your sweet tongue..I always use 3/4)
2 cups of Flour
3 cups of Coconut Milk with boiled pumpkin mashed       inside it

NOTE! Boiled pumpkin is watery, you may need to adjust or agak-agak.. follow your sense or you'll end up with pengat labu..hehe..
(for large mould, double up the measurement...)

How to bake this cake:

There are 2 ways you can bake this cake. But before that, brush some cooking oils to the inner part of the mould and pre-heat for 30-45 second. This is to avoid the mixture from sticking to the mould.

Pour the mixture into the mould.

You may choose either one of the baking method:

1/ Bake directly on the gas stove..the result will be a real kuih bakar like you seen in many nasi lemak stall, with dark brown or black kerak2 that is nice.. purely traditional way

OR

2/ Place in a pre-heated oven at 180-200 degree, bake till done. The result will be a nice Kuih Bakar Labu like photo above.

Normally it takes around 40-50 minutes. Let the cake cold to room temperature before slicing it. Or else akan melekat2 dan lembik..

Alternatively, you may also use this recipe to make a Kuih Bakar Pandan by removing the pumpkin and add pandan leaves water to coconut milk.

Try this and give your testimonial :-)

:: CHAR KUEY TEOW TUKUL & PAHAT ::

There it goes :) I haven't updated my blog for a few days already... been busy with many things.. from house chores, Tupperware business, work in the office.. but alhamdulillah, I managed to slot a minute or two just to update my dear blog :)

If not mistaken, I have mentioned at my earlier post that I gonna give my review on Char Kuey Teow. Me having my lunch with my lunch-buddy a.k.a Mr. Husband today, and we decided to have the same meal - Char Kuey Teow Udang. Again, at our favourite hot spot i.e. Medan Selera Taman Bunga Ros in front of Universal Cable nearby Taman Daya. The stall is at the right end owned by Hairul Hadi si tokey muda yg kreatif dgn pelbagai hidangan istimewa yang sangat lazat.. I am getting obese because of you!

Fresh from wok, the char kuey teow is simply perfect! I have to admit when I first tried this meal when it first introduced... I was a bit dissapointed with their slow service, forgetful and the taste was not as nice as nowadays. I haven't tried it for quite sometimes after those bad experience until my husband started to order the Char Kuey Teow over and over again... well, after a few months...it already becomes my favourite as well.

With a non-excessive gravy, just nice portion for one tummy during lunch time hunger, serving hot... this is a really must-tried meal. Customer may choose to have the Char Kuey Teow Udang, Char Kuey Teow Kerang or Special Char Kuey Teow.

The price is RM4.00 per plate except for Special Char Kuey Teow ~ RM4.50

There are other nice menu here as well such as Tauhu Bakar, Yong Tau Foo (with the soup one), Mee Rebus etc...

:: NASI GORENG YONG CHOW & ENGLISH BUTTER PRAWN ::

Yesterday was a terrible day. Not for being alone while husband was down with fever but the weather was scary! Heavy rain and riding a motorcycle alone from Tebrau to Kulai was awful..it was the longest journey ever!

Stop talking about the rain... I arrived at home to a sick husband, and he demanded a further checkup at Kulai Hospital. After dropped him off, me bring my hungry kids to a nearby restaurant for dinner. A very simple dinner for a non-fussy mom and easy to please kiddos... Lapan Kati was the best choice as it located 1 minute from the hospital and my kids love the food very much.

Biasalahkan, tgh bulan..bajet juga dah sampai ke paras hidung, I opted for a simple menu but proved to be delicious. Yong Chow Fried Rice, served piping hot with vegetables, chicken, eggs and topped with spring onion and fried onion. My son and younger daughter makan bertambah okay...mama diorg apa lagi..huhu...and we were also having a plate of English Butter
Prawns as a perfect companion to this delicious rice :)

To be honest, English Butter Prawn has already become the 'must-order' every time we had our dinner at Lapan Kati. Medium-sized prawns cooked perfectly in the i-don't-know-what-the-ingredients-is mixture but what I am very very sure, butter, finely slice curry leaves and a little amount of green birds' eye chili.

Rasanya mcm tak pernah missed menu nie dari senarai pesanan ktorang...kalau makan, anak saya sampai menjilat pinggan..penangan kuah mentega yang superdelicious...

Actually, macam-macam lagi lauk pauk diorg yang sedap kat sini. Tapi, for this visit..ini jelah yg kitorg makan..and with the cold weather... minum neslo, teh o dan milo semuanya suam.. so tak dan la saya nak snap gambar air biasa-biasa kan... antara yang menarik di sini adalah Ketam Blackpepper, Corn & Crabmeat Soup, Lemon Chicken - my personal favourite! , hotplate tofu etc etc etc... Lapan Kati serves a signature drink named Sarawak Teh C... ini pun later-later la saya bg review yer...

Price range kat sini... taklah murah dan takdelah mahal tak masuk akal. Customers may choose the portion size e.g S, M, L mengikut pax... Yong Chow Fried Rice 2-3pax costs RM9.00 and Small plate of Butter Prawn berharga RM15.00. No worries, no govt tax or service charge. And the service is sangat pantas...!!!

LAPAN KATI RESTAURANT IS LOCATED AT INDAHPURA, KULAIJAYA... OPPOSITE BANDAR PUTRA. TURN LEFT AT THE FLYOVER JUST AFTER KULAI HOSPITAL, AND YOU CAN SEE THE RESTAURANT ON YOUR LEFT JUST A FEW SHOP LOTS AFTER KLINIK YAP AND BEFORE PETRONAS. LAPAN KATI IS A HALAL CHINESE MUSLIM RESTAURANT.
